Lash Huffman started wrestling in 1989 as Super Collider on the independent circuit in Texas. In Ivan Putski's Western Wrestling Alliance, he first started feuding with his brother, Booker (who was G.I. Bro at the time) under the ring name Jive Soul Bro. He began teaming with his brother as Stevie Ray (named after a combination of musical artists Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles[better source needed]) in a tag team called The Ebony Experience for the Global Wrestling Federation, which was on ESPN. They were faces and feuded with the "Blackbirds" of Iceman King Parsons and Brickhouse Brown. They won the GWF Tag Team Championship three times. Stevie Ray then went on to win the GWF North American Heavyweight Championship in 1993. As tension grew between members of nWo Hollywood, Stevie Ray started helping Booker T during his matches. As Booker was getting ganged up on in July, the two reunited Harlem Heat. They began feuding with Barry and Kendall Windham as well as The Jersey Triad of Diamond Dallas Page, Chris Kanyon and Bam Bam Bigelow. They went on to win the Tag Titles three more times, making them 10 time champions. One Hundred Years Ago, the Harlem Hellfighters Bravely Led the U.S. Into WWI Their courage made headlines across the country, hailing the African-American regiment as heroes even as they faced. The team never made it to WWE — Stevie Ray’s induction of Booker T into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013 is the only time they appeared together in WWE — but WCW called them up in 1993. Immediately they were repackaged as Harlem Heat after the fledgling Miami Heat NBA franchise and given the names Kane and Kole on the suggestion of Sid. They debuted as bad guys under the managerial auspices of Col. Robert Parker, an over-the-top caricature of a wealthy Southerner who wouldn’t have appeared out of place in the film “Django Unchained.” Needless to say, it was an unfortunate way to introduce the next great tag team to the world. In August 1993, they went to World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and changed their team name to Harlem Heat. Initially Lash was known as Kane while Booker became Kole. They were then billed from Harlem. They became heels and were on Harley Race and Col. Rob Parker's team in the War Games at Fall Brawl on September 19, 1993, with Vader and Sid Vicious against Sting, Davey Boy Smith, Dustin Rhodes and The Shockmaster. They lost the match when Shockmaster forced Booker (Kole) to submit.
They were singles wrestlers at first. Stevie became a man monster dubbed Super Collider, a name inspired by a massive particle accelerator scientists were constructing in Waxahachie, Texas, at the time. He’d grown up admiring heavyweights like “Cowboy” Bill Watts and Wahoo McDaniel and adopted a similarly snug ring style that befitted his 6-foot-5, near-300 pound frame. Booker was G.I. Bro — a persona he would later dust off in WCW — in response to the Gulf War of the early ’90s. They didn’t perform as a tag team until they arrived in Dallas’ Global Wrestling Federation where they were paired together by an unabashedly creative thinker named Eddie Gilbert.“Eddie Gilbert had an idea to put two African American wrestlers together to be well-dressed, well-spoken, and try to get away from the stigma that professional wrestling has put on so many other African American wrestlers,” Stevie Ray said. “I commend the man for that, because who else would think outside the box like that?” Harlem Heat - Ebook written by Mark Anthony, 50 Cent. Harlem Heat was a professional wrestling tag team made up of two real-life brothers, Booker and Lash Huffman (better known as Booker T and Stevie Ray). The team achieved their greatest success in World Championship Wrestling (WCW), where they won the WCW World Tag Team Championship a record ten times together. Kevin Powers of WWE remarked: When debating the greatest tag team in WCW history. Harlem Heat was no different, although it was the Heat Seeker most fans remember. The move sees Stevie Ray utilize an Electric Chair on an opponent while his 6-foot-3-inch tall, 256 pound brother came off the top rope with a dropkick -- not an easy thing for Booker to take himself

There’s no fun in there! We came from a football’s player locker room in the African American community, and it’s all about having fun. You just live life.”By early 1999, both nWo factions had fused back together, but members of nWo Hollywood started bickering over who the leader of the sub-faction was. Hollywood Hogan began telling various members in private that he had granted them official leadership, causing confusion and friction between members. Not long after, Stevie Ray won the leadership role in a 4-man battle royal on the April 5, 1999 episode of WCW Monday Nitro, defeating Horace Hogan, Brian Adams, and Vincent. “My brother was always the guy I wanted to be like,” Booker T told WWE.com. “He was always in the gym working out, he always had the girls, he could dance. Everybody in the community knew him, everybody in the club scene knew him. He was just a cool guy more than anything.”
Harlem Heat is an action packed novella from Mark Anthony. Anthony created a unique storyline with having Roxy running such a powerful street operation that you would usually see men running. There is a lot of fast-paced action and drama in this story that will keep the reader on their toes The brothers persevered and — after reverting back to their former names and acquiring Sherri Martel as a manager — beat Marcus Alexander Bagwell & The Patriot to win the first of their record 10 WCW Tag Team Titles. When they made the turn to fan favorites, Harlem Heat became, arguably, WCW’s most popular tandem thanks to their fiery matching tights, a theme song so awesome Booker T still uses a version of it to this very day and matches that consistently entertained. • Major Update On Edge & Harlem Heat's Return. It turned out to be a great idea. They flourished as partners in the Global Wrestling Federation, and won their first tag team titles in 1992 as “The Ebony Experience.” The GWF was regularly aired on ESPN at the time, and it didn’t take long for the call to come in from WCW. One would be against The Revival, which Harlem Heat would most likely win, and the second one would be at WrestleMania 36 against The Street Profits. They couldn’t see the evolution of what professional wrestling was becoming.”Booker T: My brother and I, we actually came up with the Harlem part. I think Dusty Rhodes had a lot to do with the Heat. However, there are those that feel like Harlem Heat isn't worthy of a WWE Hall of Fame induction. One such person is Dave Meltzer. Upon hearing that Dave didn't think that he was worthy of a WWE Hall of Fame induction, this is what Stevie Ray had to say on Twitter: In Dave Meltzer's opinion, I'm not worthy of the #WWEHallOfFame Stevie Ray: I would say, firstly, Sid Vicious. And guys like Jody Hamilton, Paul Orndorff, and Arn Anderson.
Life hadn’t been easy for them. Both of their parents passed when the boys were young, and Booker spent time in prison following an armed robbery in 1987. Stevie Ray was the oldest, and he took on the burden of looking after Booker. Booker wasn’t a bad kid. He respected his brother, and, in turn, wanted to earn his respect. So when Stevie suggested the two train to become professional wrestlers after being approached by “The Polish Hammer” Ivan Putski in the gym, Booker listened. They entered Putski’s school when it first opened — which, to their surprise, was primarily operated by former WWE Superstar Scott Casey — and went to work.In 2005, Stevie Ray and Booker T opened the "Booker T and Stevie Ray Pro Wrestling Academy" in Houston, Texas.
