The lodges are simple round huts in the local style, but with all modern conveniences and lovely views over the local countryside. Charlotte and Kyle were extremely charming and helpful, they organised several activities for us and nothing was too much trouble. These included a homestead tour to visit a local Zulu family, experience their customs and see how they live, which was a bit of an eye opener, we also went on a battlefields tour with Mike Nell Which was heartbreaking, but not to be missed. On our last night Charlotte organised local dancers to put on a show for us, followed by a Zulu boma dinner which made for a fun evening. We went for some lovely sunset evening walks around the estate, they have quite a lot of wildlife around the place but no man eaters. On our last day we went for an early morning game drive with Charlotte and Kyle which was magical, we learnt about the local geology and flora and fauna, then over the river for coffee and biscuits whilst surrounded by giraffe, zebra et al. All very natural and wonderful. Isibindi isn't the height of luxury but that would be missing the point in Zululand. We loved it and would thoroughly recommend it."

Reviews from Isibindi employees about Isibindi culture, salaries, benefits, work-life balance, management, job security, and more "This is an excellent base for exploring the Zulu-British battlefields of Isandlwana & Rorke's Drift. Isibindi can recommend an excellent guide who will bring these two very different battles to life, including the tragic misunderstandings and arrogance that led to them and the dramatic characters who fought in them. This is a medium-priced lodge, with thoroughly comfortable, beautifully designed modern rondavels, looking out from the ridge to a panorama of rolling countryside. Guidance & care by the manager were excellent. Food is not haute cuisine, but well prepared and most satisfying. A well designed horizon swimming pool is a nice plus. Meals are table d'hôte. We had lively conversations, including insightful discussions, with our fellow guests and the manager." From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and looked after but had space and privacy when required. The accommodation - we were in room 4 and woke up to sunrise at the end of the bed every morning - is well designed and has all the amenities required. An update to refresh the facility will be needed in the future but charm still wins at the moment. The food was high quality, well prepared and served with style and enthusiasm. The lodge is comfortable and the open fire a godsend in July. Walking alone in the bush with giraffes, zebra and other animals was an experience that will live with us for a long time. The trails are rustic but extensive and offer huge opportunity. We did a battlefield tour which was good. What made this stay really special were Bruce and the team. Nothing was too much trouble and when we left we felt like we were leaving friends.
